1. Cyprus has adopted JAR-FCL1 for licenses rating and validations since 10th October 2003.

2. At present Cyprus issues only PPL licenses. All airline companies based and operating in Cyprus use cockpit personnel holding professional licenses such as JAA-Commercial pilot license (JAA-CPL) or JAA-Airline Transport Pilot license (JAA-ATP) and rating according to the conditions enacted in JAR_FCL1-015

3. Also all Airline Companies based and operating in Cyprus under JAR-OPS 1 AOCs.

4. As a result of the above, Airline Companies based and operating in Cyprus employ cockpit personnel with JAA licenses by JAA mutually recognized countries (mostly UKCAA). According to JAR-FCL 1-015 par (a)(1) we accept fully the above mentioned licenses without any formality or validation.

5. This AIC serves also as a validation of the above mentioned licenses in accordance with ICAO Annex 1 standards.
