EXPRESSION OF INTEREST ULTRALIGHT AIRCRAFT CONTROL INSPECTOR – SELECTION CRITERIA

1. GENERAL

1.1 Ministerial decree reference 359/2014 , paragraph 13 (3). With regards to airworthiness inspections (as required), of ultra light aircraft operating in the Republic and as per the relevant ministerial decree, the Department of Civil Aviation will designate up to three external control inspectors, who will perform all required inspection tasks and make recommendations to the DCA for the issue, renewal or reinstatement of a Permit to Fly, either initially, bi-annually or in cases of repairs or modifications.

2. CRITERIA

2.1 The Department of Civil Aviation has established the following selection criteria for the said inspectors, as a minimum, in order to determine the suitability of the applicants:
  1. Possess a valid ICAO recognized aircraft engineer license with five years of experience in aircraft maintenance.
  2. OR
  3. Possess a valid ultralight aircraft pilot’s license issued by any EU Member State or by an Organisation recognized by an EU Member State and additionally have a minimum of five years experience in the technical inspection of ultralight aircraft.
  4. AND
  5. Must have very good knowledge of the English language, both written and oral, in accordance with the criteria published by the Public Service Committee (ΕΔY).
Written applications should be sent in a sealed envelope to the Director of the Department of Civil Aviation within 21 days of the publication of this AIC, together with copies of all required documentation. The envelopes should clearly be marked with the description of the position ie. “ULTRALIGHT AIRCRAFT CONTROL INSPECTOR”
